"Let us choose to unite the power of markets with the strength of universal ideals"
-United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan
Dear Dr. von Frederick Rawlins,
Congratulations! We are very pleased to inform you that your paper proposal on how executives might minimize the effect of terrorist attacks has been accepted for a virtual global presentation at the "Business as an Agent of World Benefit: Management Knowledge Leading Positive Change" Global Forum on Sunday-Wednesday October 22-25, 2006.
We had an unprecedented response to our call for papers, receiving over 400 excellent papers, stories, and workshop proposals. Given this tremendous response, we were able to accept only a small proportion of the submissions. As your paper is both excellent and offers a very interesting perspective that will greatly add to the worldwide dialogue, we would like to feature it at the global virtual Forum that will be convened simultaneously with the local face-to-face meeting in Cleveland.
As you are aware, this landmark Forum will not only be hosted in-person in Cleveland, but will also encircle the globe with an expected 3000 virtual delegates from around the world. The virtual Forum will provide an environment in which both small and large groups of delegates can gather electronically to learn, collaborate, and network. The virtual Forum will offer both real-time and on-demand presentations, dialogues, and sessions. Virtual delegates will have access to many of the deliberations taking place live in Cleveland, along with a full set of presentations and discussions only available on-line.
Presenting at the virtual Forum will give your ideas wide exposure among the worldwide delegates. You will be presenting your paper in the virtual Global Forum in one of a range of special on-line formats that will highlight your work and encourage dialogue among delegates with similar interests and concerns. Learning Times, one of the world's leaders in convening virtual conferences, will work with you to help you prepare the most effective virtual presentation. You will be receiving additional information about how to prepare for your virtual presentation once you have had a chance to register for the Forum.
If you have not done so already, please register for the Virtual Forum by July 20th, 2006 at http://www.bawbglobalforum.org/about/virtualforum.
If you have not done so already, please register for the Virtual Forum by July 20th, 2006 at http://www.bawbglobalforum.org/about/virtualforum.
Space at the live Global Forum in Cleveland is limited to 400 participants. Considerably more than 400 people have already registered and/or expressed strong interest in attending. As a presenter at the virtual Forum, you can choose to fully participate in the global on-line Forum and not attend the local face-to-face meeting in Cleveland. If, however, you wish to attend the Cleveland meeting, as a selected presenter at the virtual Forum, you will be given top priority on the waitlist if no space is available at the time you choose to register. Please note that the Global Forum will open at 6pm on Sunday evening October 22, 2006 and will close at 4pm on Wednesday October 25th. To confirm your participation and to reserve a place at the "live" face-to-face Forum in Cleveland, please register on-line at http://www.bawbglobalforum.org/register
Please complete your paper and submit it to Ante Glavas, the Forum Manager, at bawbforum2006@case.edu no later that August 15th. Thanks in advance.
The relationship between business and society-including business's search for mutually beneficial advances that address the world's most pressing global needs-has become one of the defining issues of the 21st century. The deliberations of the group of experts from around the world who are convening on October 22-25 will be enhanced by your contribution. Congratulations once again on the work you are doing and on being selected to participate in this exciting, groundbreaking Forum.
